A surprise guest was seen on the boardwalk in Seaside Heights for the July 4th holiday. Former New Jersey Governor Christine Todd Whitman was seen, escorted by SHPD Chief Thomas Boyd. Former Governor Whitman often visits the Borough, and always calls Chief Boyd when she gets to town. When she was in New Jersey’s highest office, Mrs. Whitman was no stranger to the Borough. She made several appearances as part of a bike ride that passed through Seaside Heights. She also would stop up for the amusements during governor times, as the Chief Executive’s summer retreat is in nearby Island Beach State Park.
